Not having access to TeamViewer has made my life much more difficult, and I'm sure it's the same for other people, but I absolutely refuse to pay $849!! For a single user license for home use. I hope you have more luck with this than I have.

I looked at their website. Its supposedly a Vietnam based company and seems to be about a year old. It claims to be free for both consumer and commercial use. It looks good on the surface but from the screenshots it appears to be literally a layout ripoff of Teamviewer. I suspect legally there is infringement there. Before I download and attempt to use it I was curious if anyone else has had experience with it. I cannot find much info on the internet about it anywhere.
One would think a good totally free Teamviewer alternative would have created some sort of buzz by now and had some reviews. Concerned that it could be a security threat once installed. Take a look at the site, even the site is very much a ripoff of Teamviewers site. The site itself seems safe. Adam Edited by hamluis, 29 August 2016 - 03:06 PM.
Moved from All Other Apps to Web Browsing/Email - Hamluis. Some further digging and I found that they are the producers of another product.
Its a bulk emailer that appears to have been around for 4 years. While I am sure it is abused by spammers the product itself appears to be legit. I just installed ultraviewer on some test machines. It does not appear to have an unattended access feature so I suspect once the application is closed they would be unable to somehow exploit it using the server generated ID number.
I ran a Malwarebytes scan just to see if it would recognize any exploits after the installation and it was clean so thats good too. Once I activated a remote session with them I found it to work fine but its pretty basic compared to Teamviewer. No ability to do remote reboots and such. So not an great alternative to Teamviewer for doing major remote tech support but good for someone who just needs basic remote functionality. Does have a text chat feature though for whatever thats worth. Edited by amn70, 14 January 2016 - 12:33 PM.
I have been using ultraviewer, as teamviewer now wants to charge me, which for the very limited use may be 8 times a month - cannot warrant the price - they wanted £700 a year Which makes it about £10 each time i use it, which is free to friends and family But tonight I was about to install on another PC and got a message that its dangerous and should not be used!! Probably from mcafee thats on the other PC cant do anymore, as i cannot connect to the other PC but upto today, it was ok fr casual use. Probably from mcafee thats on the other PC cant do anymore, as i cannot connect to the other PC but upto today, it was ok fr casual use Hi Etaf, I'm a staff of UltraViewer. I just found this topic on Google today and very happy to hear the response from you and everybody here. Our software is fairly new in the market. Because the main feature of the software is for remote controlling, sometime it mistakenly flagged as malware from some antivirus software but it's actually not a malware. We're working hard to fighting about this, this is a report of Avira after request a full analysis: The file 'UltraViewersetup5.0en.exe' has been determined to be 'FALSE POSITIVE'. In particular this means that this file is not malicious but a false alarm.
Detection is removed from our virus definition file (VDF) with the version: 7.12.7.178. We've sent this software to many popular antivirus software providers to request a review but not all. You can help us to report this software to your antivirus provider (McAfee) as false positive so they can make a full research and add this software to their false positive list. I can confirm this software is totally 100% clean, there is no adware, spyware, viruses, phishing or any type of malware on it. We're selling software on internet for long term, not selling any malware to customers because it will destroy all of our reputation that we have built up. Please don't hesitate to tell me if you have any query or concerns.
You can also drop me an email to [email protected] if you need any assistance, we will answer as soon as possible. Thank you so much and have a nice day!
Edited by ultraviewer, 15 January 2016 - 09:40 PM. I've tried their software and it does work and works great. Problem is you can't send commands like Crtl+alt+del so if the computer is locked there's no way to send key strokes to unlock it such as a server.
Great for when you need to access your system and it isn't locked. You can type but you can't send key combinations.
Can't print either, nor is there drag and drop. Teamviewer is a great program but it's expensive. UltraViewer will support Ctrl + Alt + Del very soon on September. Please wait out next version with many new features. Thank you very much!
TeamViewer is an app that allows you to remotely connect to multiple workstations. There are many apps that allow remote control of different systems, but TeamViewer is set up to be extremely accessible, while also being powerful. Whether managing an IT department or just helping your neighbor down the street fix their computer, it is an application worth installing on your system. Pros Passing control: With TeamViewer, all parties install the software and then connect to a session. Control of a computer can then be passed from person to person, instead of being a one-way street as is sometimes the case with this type of software. Team sessions: The software gets its name for a reason, as you're able to include multiple parties in a connection.
This is great when you're managing a team of employees as you can switch back and forth to wherever you're needed at any given time. The multiple connections are sorted into tabs, which makes it easy to stay organized and see where you're needed. File transfer: A great feature is the ability to drag and drop files from one computer to another. That way, if you're helping someone solve a problem and they need a particular file, you don't need to waste time downloading it to their machine or emailing it over. If you already have the file, you can just copy it over with a few clicks. Cons Privacy: TeamViewer has monitoring software of some kind installed within its program to detect when 'commercial use' is suspected, as it requires a license to be purchased for commercial use.
This raises certain questions about the privacy of your activities, even if using the software legitimately. Bottom Line If you need a solution that will allow you to access your own computers remotely, or to connect with your friends' or family's machines, the free version of TeamViewer is a very good option. Even a non-technical person should have no problem establishing a connection. Full Specifications What's new in version 14.1.3399. After a script execution within the session is finished a server notification is now shown with an exit code as well as for failed executions.
